Your video and audio are not recorded

Calls stream directly between you and the person you're matched with (peer-to-peer). Fling helps make the introduction but the live call is not recorded or archived by our servers. The narrow exception is the live safety-review process below.

Live safety review

To detect conduct that reports and automated checks can miss, authorized moderators may receive low-resolution still samples from the cameras of connected users. Sampling does not include audio, does not join or interrupt your match, and is disclosed at the consent gate before camera access. Live samples are held only in moderator memory long enough to refresh the review screen and are not automatically stored. Access is restricted and monitoring actions are audited.

If a moderator confirms a rules violation, they may ban the identity. A frame is retained only when it is deliberately attached to a report or moderation record, under the evidence-retention rules below.

What we collect

• Guests: a temporary session identifier and your IP address, used to connect you and to enforce safety rules.
• Signed-in users: if you sign in with Apple or Google, or create an email/password account, we store the account information needed to authenticate you. Passwords are stored only as slow, salted hashes, never as plaintext.
• Reports: when someone is reported, we keep a record (involved identifiers, IP, reason, time) to review abuse and apply bans.
• Moderation snapshots:when a user is reported or automatically flagged, a single still frame of that user's video may be captured and stored as evidence for review. It is retained only as long as needed for moderation, then deleted.

Automated safety checks

To keep chats safe, Fling runs automated checks on your device — scanning chat wording and video frames for explicit or abusive content. These checks happen in your browser; the frames and messages they analyze are not uploaded to us. If something is detected, a flag (the identity involved, type, and time) is recorded for review — it does not necessarily result in an immediate ban.

How we use it

To match you with others, keep the service running, and keep it safe — investigating reports, rate-limiting abuse, and banning rule-breakers. We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the safety of our users — for example, responding to a valid legal request or acting on illegal activity.

Your choices

You can use Fling as a guest without an account, and sign out at any time. To request deletion of account data, contact us at support@flingapp.live.

Children

Fling is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
